Frequency Response (Panel)
--------------------------

| The Frequency Response Panel plots the frequency response at points sampled along the audience for the selected array - one thin trace per sampled point, plus an energy-averaged mean curve. It replaces the Probes Panel found in earlier versions of System Optimiser.
| The Frequency Response Panel is most useful for choosing the angles of a line array, in that the frequency response along the entire audience can be seen in one view quickly, without having to place multiple :ref:`measurement microphones<mics>` within the :ref:`3D View<3dview>`.

| The Frequency Response Panel requires an open :ref:`Sideview<sideview>` and follows its selected array. In the graph, only the selected array is taken into account (the array is soloed), **all other sources are ignored (muted)**. That means the traces do not show any interaction between sources, and hence the Frequency Response Panel :ref:`should not be confused with Microphones<frvsmics>`.

The Frequency Response Panel is part of the default :ref:`2D SOURCE<2DSource>` layout, and can be opened from the panel add menu in the :ref:`3D SOURCES<Sources>`, :ref:`2D SOURCE<2DSource>` or custom tabs.

In the header menu, the following options are available:

**Average**
    Shows or hides the energy-averaged mean curve, plotted thick to make it stand out.

**Window / Whole cut**
    Toggles between sampling only within the start/end :ref:`coverage window<sideview>` set in the Sideview, and sampling the whole audience cut. The button's label reflects the current state.

**Autoscale**
    Re-fits the dB axis to the displayed traces.

**Target Curve**
    In the controls strip beside the graph, a target curve can be selected and overlaid, with adjustable level and tolerance width. Choosing the *Custom* target opens an inline editor for your own target points, to describe the response you are aiming for.

Scroll to zoom the dB axis, drag to pan, and double-click to reset the view and re-fit the target level.

As with all :ref:`Panels<panels>`, the Frequency Response Panel can be resized and moved using :ref:`Panel Drag & Drop<paneldrag>`, and 'popped out' into an :ref:`additional System Optimiser window<discreet System Optimiser Windows>`. The location of this Panel will be saved as part of the current :ref:`tab<View Modes>`.
