Within the :ref:`Source Manager<sourcemanager>`, :ref:`sources<sourcetypes>` have properties which affect their behaviour in the :ref:`3D View<3dview>`, and how they are used for :ref:`pressure mapping<SPLRendering>`.

These Source Properties are as follows:

**Background Colour**
    * Grey: This is the standard state, when the loudspeaker source is not selected, nor has any warnings or errors associated with it.
    * Green: When the loudspeaker source is selected, either by clicking it within the sources list, or by clicking the loudspeaker source within the :ref:`3D View<3dview>`, the background of colour of the entity within the source list will be green.
    * Orange: When the loudspeaker source has a :ref:`warning<warnings>`, either globally on the :ref:`controller<sourcetypes>`, or within any :ref:`template<templates>` within the controller, the background colour will be orange, as an attention getter.
    * Red: When the loudspeaker source has an :ref:`error<warnings>`, either globally on the :ref:`controller<sourcetypes>`, or within any :ref:`template<templates>` within the controller, the background colour will be red, as an attention getter.

**Hide**:
If the hide button on a :ref:`source<sourcetypes>` is enabled, the loudspeaker is hidden from the :ref:`3D View<3dview>` - IE it will not be visible & not included within the :ref:`SPL Pressure Calculation<SPLRendering>`.

**Mute L & Mute R**
The mute button(s) on the source controller mute the loudspeaker(s) within the :ref:`calculation engine<background>`. This will have the effect of turning them off within the :ref:`pressure mapping<SPLRendering>`, and also stopping their contribution to :ref:`Microphones<mics>` placed within the :ref:`3D View<3dview>`. It will not however, mute the loudspeaker when viewed with the :ref:`Frequency Response Panel<frequencyresponse>`, which always solos the selected array.
If the source controller is in Stereo mode, there will be two mute buttons - ‘Mute Left’, and ‘Mute Right’. If the source controller is in any other mode, there will just be one mute button provided which will control all entities within that controller.

**Control Group Assign**
The individual :ref:`sources<sourcetypes>` can be added to a :ref:`Control Group<controlgroups>` by selecting one of the coloured squares within the entities in the source list. When this square lights up to signify it is assigned, the parameters defined within the :ref:`control group<controlgroups>` that it is assigned to will be summed with the settings contained within the source controller.

**Edit**
To the right of the Source list is an :ref:`'edit pencil'<input>` icon which when pressed, will open the edit controller for adjusting the parameters of that :ref:`source<sourcetypes>`.
