Removing or Downgrading System Optimiser

Downgrading System Optimiser generally does not require any special procedures - simply install the older version in place of the current one. Datasets are managed independently of the application version by the :ref:`Data Version Manager (DVM)<DVM>`.

However, we recommend against downgrading (except if you are downgrading from a pre-release version like a beta to a stable public version).

To uninstall System Optimiser:

**MacOS**
    Delete *coda-system-optimiser.app* from your Applications folder.

**Windows**
    Uninstall System Optimiser via *Settings -> Apps -> Installed apps* (or *Control Panel -> Programs and Features*).

Uninstalling does not remove your settings and downloaded datasets. If you wish to remove these as well, delete the following folder:

**MacOS**
    /Users/*yourusername*/Library/Application Support/system-optimiser-ui

**Windows**
    C:/Users/*yourusername*/AppData/Roaming/system-optimiser-ui
